1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using Coin Flow ("the Service"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Coin Flow is a personal finance management tool that:

• Connects to your bank accounts via Plaid to import transactions
• Automatically categorizes transactions by matching them against categories you have chosen previously
• Provides budgeting tools, spending analytics, and financial insights
• Allows you to organize and track your personal finances

4. User Accounts and Eligibility

4.1 Account Creation

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Coin Flow
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must use Google OAuth for authentication

4.2 Account Security

• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
• Do not share your account credentials with others

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Upload malicious code or viruses
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited messages

6. Bank Account Connection

6.1 Plaid Integration

• Bank connections are facilitated through Plaid Technologies, Inc.
• You authorize Coin Flow to access your transaction data through Plaid
• We only have read-only access to your bank accounts
• We cannot move money, initiate transfers, or make changes to your accounts
• Plaid's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply

6.2 Data Accuracy

• Transaction data is provided by your financial institutions via Plaid
• We are not responsible for errors, delays, or omissions in data from Plaid or your bank
• You should verify important information with your bank directly

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coin Flow and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
• Financial losses resulting from use of or reliance on the Service
• Errors or delays in transaction data from Plaid or financial institutions
• Service interruptions, outages, or data loss
• Unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to secure credentials

In no event shall our liability exceed $100 USD or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (currently $0 during beta).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Coin Flow and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Your violation of applicable laws or regulations

10. Intellectual Property

• Coin Flow and its content are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without permission
• Your data belongs to you - we do not claim ownership of your financial data
• You grant us a license to process your data to provide the Service

11. Data and Privacy

• Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy
• You can export your data at any time
• You can delete your account and all data at any time from Settings. Deletion takes effect after a 14-day grace period and can be cancelled until then; you may also request it by emailing mattraydub+legal@gmail.com
• We will retain data only as long as necessary or as required by law

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by You

• You may terminate your account at any time through account settings
• Upon termination, your data is deleted after a 14-day grace period

12.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• We detect fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
• We discontinue the Service (with 30 days notice)
• Required by law or legal process

13. Changes to Terms

• We may update these Terms from time to time
• We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification
• Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of updated Terms
• If you disagree with changes, you may terminate your account

14. Future Pricing

• The Service is currently free during beta
• We may introduce premium features with paid pricing in the future
• We will provide notice before implementing any charges
• We do not guarantee that a permanently free tier will be available
• If your paid access ends, or you never start it, your account becomes read-only rather than closed: you may continue to view and export all of your data, at no cost, for as long as your account exists
• Beta users may receive special benefits or grandfathered pricing

15. Governing Law and Disputes

• These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your State/Country]
• Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of [Your Jurisdiction]
• You agree to first attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us

16. Miscellaneous

16.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Coin Flow.

16.2 Severability

If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

16.3 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.

16.4 Assignment

You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights and obligations to a successor.
